Lord of All He Surveys
Well, Lord of a little of what he surveys, let's say.
We were six floors up from ground level at the lawyers' this afternoon, and I suppose we should be gratified to know that the vast amount of fees paid to them had been partly responsible for the opulence of their offices on the top four floors of a new build at Quartermile.
The 360 degree views over the city with the Pentlands, West Lothian and Arthur's Seat in the distance were amazingly clear. The skies were huge, full of movement and colour
It is interesting to note that both our lawyers and bankers seem to have offices with a view, all funded by the high fees charged to us their clients.
But enough of that, I'm not complaining - not I - and I'm only too delighted that the trip up in the glass sided elevator afforded todays blip.
Before seeing how the other half worked, I paid a visit to the Mosque to have lunch and meet a select band of blippers.
The rain which was torrential at that time was able to make its way through any gaps in the perspex roof, and made eating without having drips down your neck and a puddle under you derriere into a sport of sorts.
As it was my rear end felt decidedly damp when I left.
This was the end of Ramadan today and the area around the Mosque was buzzing with children and grown ups in festive clothing celebrating Eid al Fitr, the three day festival marking the end of their month of fasting.
It is appropriate to wish all our Moslem neighbours 'Eid Mubarak!'
