Thistle Down

By Ethel

Awakening

Waking up at three A.M.,
Long before it's light..
Takes away a part of day,
And mixes it with night.

All outside is quiet now,
People are asleep..
Softly rising from your bed,
You to the curtains creep.

Looking at the skies above,
With silvery slippers on.
O My Goodness, Gracious Be!!
When will come the dawn?

There was no cause of waking,
No hurt was on your mind.
And to lay upon your bed again,
No covers could you find.

You sit in meditation,
The hours seem so long.
You say it over and over again,
"Something Must Went Wrong".
