Thistle Down

Gratitude To Father

I close my eyes...to ponder,
The bringing up...I've had.
Some how the "Lights of Love",
Are shining on my Dad.

Outstanding...in his wisdom,
While his hope for me appears.
And how he set the guide-posts,
For me...to meet my years.

His council...and his vision,
I never can repay.
And the weary look upon his face,
Lest I should go astray.

For he is some one special,
Who has the kindest way.
Of giving me encouragement,
When skies are getting grey.

Today...in sweet remembrance,
For his love...and life-long part.
My gratitude...for the debt I owe,
Is ever in my heart.
