Continued...the GAME
Three thirty came and went. She sat alone at a table by the window sipping on an Arnold Palmer. Why did I figure he would do this, after all, I had basically stood him up the night before. She glanced up at the hostess, directing a tall handsome young toward her table. He is here, she tried to catch her breath. "Sorry I am late, it took a while, I had to borrow a friend's car, I got here as soon as I could" he smiled. His teeth were straight and white, he had a lip stud on the right had side, other than that, he was pretty straight forward. His hair was tousled a bit, he attempted to smooth it out with his fingers. " May I sit down, " he pointed to the seat in front of her as he motioned to the waitress, "I would like an Arnold Palmer when you get a moment, would you like.....oh I see you have one...Cool" he smiled again and lowered himself on to the chair, never taking his eyes off of her. "You could have text me" she said confidently as she cocked her head and raised her brow. "I was driving, I don't text and drive, beside, it is only 15 minutes, or do you have some place to be"? he shrugged his shoulders, "I am sorry, I didn't mean to be late, can I buy you and early dinner"? She smiled, "I actually am a little hungry", grabbing the menu.
They talked and laughed and ate together at the little table. She looked at his watch, "Nice watch, what time is it"? They had been so engrossed in one another, neither one had checked their cell phones, time was irrelevant. "Do you still want the tickets to the game"? she started to pull them from her purse and realized they were in her back pocket of her jeans. "Yes", he said, "and I would like for you to go with me, because I really think you are one hot mama". She smiled...then they both started cracking up. "You are too funny, that is why I love you," she said through her giggles.
It was a game...a game they played every once in a while, to keep the relationship FRESH. "So, will you still pay for the tickets, I don't have any money, I had to buy diapers on my way home from your mom's" she exclaimed. "How is the little guy", he asked "he finally said 'mah mah' today", she beamed, he beamed back. "He is a smart kid, like his 'mah mah'. Are you ready to hit the game"? "Yep, let's win this thing". .....
