Today's the day .................... to travel by train

This picture sums up where we spent most of our day today! This was the first train that we got on at St Austell in deepest Cornwall and its destination was York via a whole host of places. It even went briefly over the border into Wales at one point to stop in Newport before heading back up through Cheltenham and Gloucester.

We actually got off in Birmingham and transferred to another train which was heading north eventually to Edinburgh. We were quite glad when we at last got to Oxenholme Lake District some eight hours after leaving St Austell. Not that anything went wrong on the journey - in fact every train was perfectly on time - it's just a long time to spend on a train .........
