Boy meets Club biscuit
(Boy wins.)
Lovely busy day today. We headed into the centre of London to take the kids (including C who we're staying with) to the British Museum, where Mr B surprised me by taking over the home schooling baton. And only one of his party got lost (me - I was taking a photo and lost sight of them).
Later when Aunty V arrived, we wandered over to Coram's Field with a picnic, to sit with the goats next to the big playground. This is an old foundlings hospital, and it seems entirely appropriate that it is now given over for children's enjoyment. Rain nearly stopped play, but our hosts had to head off anyway to a party, so we fulfilled Conor's earlier expressed wish and went to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs. Last time I went was a Monday morning, so no crowds, today we had to queue to get in, and the argy bargy in the slow queue to get to see the 'lifelike' T-Rex was quite intimidating. We made it in the end, and Conor wasn't so frightened as last time (when he ran away from it).
Home for the kids' dinner (and this photo of L's pudding, his first super chocolatey Club biscuit). Then we grown ups crossed town again to a friend's 40th birthday dinner - much fun, much food and certainly too much wine. Happily the babysitter waiting for us meant we couldn't 'go on' anywhere after the restaurant, so we returned home and I bathed my poor sore tooth in some Highland Park until it was soothed enough to allow sleep.
