Bessvatnet - Besseggen - Bessvatnet
Distance: 10.8km
Time: 6:05
We woke up at 8am into a rainy morning. We did not have any hurry in our morning routines - I even went back to my sleeping bag once waking up the others (I might have forgotten to say to Il&Ta that we shouldn't be hurrying).
The five of us started our day-hike towards Besseggen at 10:45.
Track uphill towards Veslfjellet was easy. The low-hanging clouds and light rain was our companion during the ascent. There was only one stream on our way before Besseggen - stopped there for a water refill.
When reaching the summit of Veslfjellet the clouds were moving away showing us the 'highway'.
After the highest point on our we walked a bit downwards towards Besseggen. The track was steep (read: STEEP). We did not descent all the way to Besseggen, rather we stopped on a rock projection for a quick lunch.
Once eating the lunch we continued a bit for a better look of the Besseggen and the altitude and color differences of the two lakes (namely Gjende and Bessvatnet).
On our way back to the camp we saw that the other hiking group had built their camp next to ours. We stopped there for a chat and they might have given me a pancake (the rest of my group did not - shame on me!)

picture: We stopped few times to take a jump picture. I think this was the best. We did also another kind of photo shoot - we all happened to have similar one-day backpacks and they all were of different color. Strange, isn't it!
