Vendange

A hard morning's grape-picking. We were lucky - the rain didn't come to anything but it was cloudy for most of the morning so it didn't get too hot. There were nine of us altogether and we picked all the grapes from one parcelle of vines - a trailer-load. On the left in the photo is our friends' daughter who's in charge of the wine-making. It was all quite relaxed and good fun, although I found it difficult to follow all the conversation, the interesting local scandals, in a mixture of French and Occitan, as well as keep working!

The Pentax had a bit of a break this morning. I took it with me, but with sticky fingers from the grapes and a lot of walking to do up and down the rows I found it easier to use the point-and-shoot camera.
