Igor and Julia
As promised days ago, something more about hurricanes. We're getting closer to the paths of the WNW bound hurricanes Igor and Julia, the first one being a category 4 hurricane with wind speeds up to 135 knots and the second one, a category one with wind speeds up to 115 knots. It is absolutely clear that we have to evade these two storms. And that is exactly what we did; we changed our heading more in a southerly direction to let both storms pass clear of us on our starboard side. On this weather map I plotted our original straight course to Trinidad and the two-legged evasive track. The arrow shows our current position and even we evaded both storm systems, you can see that we will get under the influence of them. And if you could look outside the porthole of my cabin right now, you would agree. The weather is rough, but it won't be as bad as we would have experienced on our original heading.
I also found a forgotten photo compilation and Offshore Impression of the Retriever this morning, if you want to see it, click HERE
I hope you like it!
