Another late blip

Oh well. Promises, promises yesterday of trying to be more imaginative with my blips and here I am again with a late blip. Another child at the dining room table!
Tonight, I telephoned the local bridge club. My husband is aghast with the idea that I may join a bridge club. During the summer, I read a book called 'the cardturner' by Louis Sachar and the story revolves around the card game of bridge. Yes, I know it sounds boring but it was a very good read. Being a number person and someone who likes to play cards I thought I would teach myself to play bridge over the summer holidays. Not an easy task. It's a very complex game. I did a bit of research and found the local bridge club. i didn't want to go on my own so I asked my son (who also loves numbers and likes playing cards) if he'd like to join me. His answer was 'no way'. The book is a story for teenagers so when I'd finished reading it, my son picked it up. He now wants to learn bridge.
We have signed up for the learner's classes. They were overjoyed when I said that a 12 year old wanted to come along. It'll surely bring the average age down considerably. First class is on the 4th October. Plenty of time to knit myself a cardigan :-)
