Flesh-fly
A large fly with nasty habits, though it probably has its uses in the natural order of things. It's a flesh-fly (sargophaga carnaria) that breeds in decaying flesh. The females don't lay eggs; they produce small larvae instead. This one was sunbathing on a tarpaulin.
