Carnival (In Perth??)

Not a town known for sounds of samba or African drums, but today here in Perth, Scotland a loud, colourful and cosmopolitan carnival came to town to celebrate Perth 800 and the 5 years of the opening of our fantastic modern concert hall (which replaced the old city hall . past its best in terms of acoustics.

We had a famous Brazilian singer - Nana I think his name was sort of leading the whole thing. There was african theme and also scottish (of course - pipe band). There were a variety dancers and more colour in the parade than I'd seen in a long time. The weather was great as all the participants made their way through the town, eventually meeting outside the concert hall for a whole day of different acts. I got the fright of my life at the end when a canon blasted out and loads of balloons floated up to the sky. Great fun. Breagha also enjoyed hoovering up all the dropped chips and burgers!

No sign of a baby yet - I've washed the shawls at last so it can be born anytime now.
