Brooklyn brownstones

This morning we rode bicycles through old brownstone neighborhoods while lazy sycamore leaves wafted down to herald the first signs of autumn. It was fresh and cool. A laid back Sunday morning in the city.

Sharon and Jon live in an area of Brooklyn called Clinton Hills/Fort Greene. Its a good spot in between two subway lines with settled neighborhoods, mostly African American and Latino, mixed with artists and professionals in their 30's or 40's. It is neither posh, nor ghetto. Neither hipster, partyish nor sedate and out of the way. It is a nice place to be, quintessential Brooklyn.

We had a brunch of huevos rancheros and cafe con leche at a Mexican bodega a few blocks away that looked and tasted just like they do in Southern Mexico. It was a nostalgic and happy foreshadowing to all the food diversity I am thrilled to have at my finger tips here! The rest of the day a soft rain fell, best spent indoor scheming away on all the new and endless projects ahead that lead off into innumerable directions and possibilities.

Freshly arrived in NYC I'm just jumping from one adventure into the next as I always seem to do. Transitioning like the falling autumn leaves heralding the end of one season and the beginning of another. Wish me luck.

To 500 blips and many more to come!
