A process of elimination

This evening I've been looking at plugs and wires, so its a fitting - if mundane - subject for a blip. Wired network was not working at home this morning ... so tonight I spent ages swapping bits about ... at first I thought the network card in the desktop was broken, but it wasnt; then I thought the powerline adapters were broken, but they weren't ... finally worked out it was the ethernet cable between the adaptor and the desktop ... last thing I checked ... still, all working now and I had a spare cable to hand :-)
