Painting the Paintstore
Not much going on the last few days over here. Since tropical storm Lisa poses no longer a threat for us, everything is switched back to routine. Maintenance is such a routine. A never ending one. Here you can see our bosun with A/B busy with painting our paintstore. This is situated right underneath the (green) deck of our forecastle, so it is steaming hot there. Add the vapors of the fresh paint and you can imagine what fun it is to work there. You'll also see hundreds and hundreds liters of paint stored there. And most of it is stored temporarily somewhere else because of the paintjob now. Ordering paint needs some experience, paint has a so-called pot-life, you can not store it forever. On the other hand it is quite disappointing if you have just finished chipping your complete vessel only to find out you don't have enough paint. It is a sensitive balance between ordering not too much and having enough.
