Alhambra by Day

I was a wee bit worried that the Alhambra wouldn't live up to all the hype. Well, I was wrong about that one. It was stunning, absolutely beautiful. The sheer scale of the complex is amazing, and then you discover that every inch of the Nasrid Palaces are covered in exquisite detail - tiles, fret work, carved stone etc. These ceiling cornucopias were my favourite detail. Simply gorgeous.

We did the whole touristy thing and walked about with audio guides, open mouthed. Not a day I'm going to forget any time soon.
