Athelstaneford

.....only it isn't pronounced around here as it looks in writing.

Donald and I have been intending for a long time to follow the path from Athelstaneford to the Garleton Hills, and today we did.
I stepped out of my house wearing a duvet-type jacket to keep myself snug, well, it had seemed appropriate whilst I was in the house. It happened to be a very glorious day with plenty of sunshine out in the great outdoors.
This was a great walk, but as we had spent a lot of time prior to this wandering around the Athelstaneford graveyard and the doocot around the back, which we ventured into and listened to the tale of the local battle and how a Saltire seen in the sky saved the day, we didn't get further than the ruins of (we think and will find out) an old brick factory.
So another day we will walk further and give ourselves time, not be in a hurry.
Fantastic views.
