Central Station

Needed to hail a cab having been out for dinner and a couple of drinks. The fleecers were outside the Hard Rock Cafe - evident because they asked where you wanted to go before you got in and then thought of a number between 9 and 11, multiplied it by 10, divided it in half and quoted five times what it should cost. Even at half-eleven at night. It was a bit far to walk in heels and despite having been another glorious day of blue skies and sunshine (calling for an outdoor post-work drink at 5pm), it was too chilly and I was too tired!

The cabbies on the station forecourt aren't particularly overjoyed to know the journey is only a short one, but they charge the metered fare and therefore get my custom plus a little tip, if change allows.
