An unusual day today. None of us doing anything energetic for a change: no fencing, no orienteering, no running, and I for one was not up to anything except hobbling around the house very slowly after yesterday's escapades. We have tidied a bit, and cleaned a bit, and I have lit the open fire for the first time this season. It's not really cold enough, but it's a nice Sunday afternoon thing to do.

Joe went to the forge yesterday to work on his sword some more; it is looking much more sword-like, and I shall photograph it soon to let you see progress. Today he went to a Japanese play group as part of his Duke of Edinburgh gold award, but also to immerse himself in Japanese language. This will become a regular Sunday morning activity for the next 3 months.
