seasonal adjustments

My mudguards have somehow been leapedfrog by the replacement front light which was ordered at least an entire day later from the same place using the same carriage method. At least the light looks to be much more effective than that which it replaces and I finally got round to removing the extra-handlebar-mounting-space thing which became necessary to employ back when most of the lights I was using ran on either 4*AAA or 2*D and required about an inch of handlebar each. Both lights, computer, reflector and bell are now snugly fitted along the handlebar itself which should hopefully result in a bit less rattle and should make the bell easier to flick, whereas before it required carefully poking the thumb through the brake wires.

Nicky had been invited out to dinner with a colleague's locally-resident pals this evening, starting at the pre-Edgar-bedtime time of sevenish and thus requiring some preparation such as defrosting sufficient milks to cope with an evening of absence of the source(s). Recent tests have indicated that he's still quite happy being fed proper milk from an improper container although he seems markedly less focussed when so doing, looking around him rather than just staring straight ahead and grunting enthusiastically, effortfully then finally sleepily if it was the pre-sleep feed. I was mildly apprehensive that the evening might have turned into a walking-on-the-spot shoulder-patting shriek-a-thon but apart from a mild grumble when I temporarily drifted out of sight while heating up the bottle all went well, resulting in a sleeping wingpiglet just before the last few millilitres were drained.
