Black billed gull grabbing food off river surface
Black billed gulls are very agile fliers. this one is flying down to pick up a morsel of food from the surface of the river. Feet, tail, and wings fully extended to give control, beak at the ready to grab whatever it's spotted.
The diet includes fish and aquatic invertebrates, insects, beetles and worms.
I like to try to take birds doing something if possible - more of a challenge!
I liked the reflection and the texture of the water too, although it's a bit dark, so the feet and bill don't stand out like they would in a red billed gull.
