Powerscourt Garden - Triton Lake and Pegasus
- Backblip - Dublin : Day 2
A very full day in and around Dublin.
We drove to Avoca Handweavers for coffee, and then on to Powerscourt, set at the foot of the Great Sugarloaf Mountain. Back around the Bay of Naples, into Dalkey and back to Blackrock. Kept my eyes open for U2 members and Pierce Brosnan, but didn't see any celebs.
Later, the bus into the city for Dublin Culture Night. Visited the Book of Kells Exhibition and the Trinity Library. I loved all the wood, the light, cast iron spiral stair and the ladders going up to the high bookshelves. A nice treat to get in for free.
On to meet with family and friends at Molly Malone and dinner in Bewleys. Called by the Stephen McKenna art exhibition and on to a guided tour of the Royal Irish Academy in Dawson Street with its wonderful collection of maps of Ireland.
