Wicklow Town Church of Ireland

Change of scenery today. Took a trip 15 miles up the road to Wicklow Town with the intention of shooting a few photos in and around the harbour. Unfortunately there is a large roadworking job in progress there so after a couple of quickies I ambled off to church. Well not quite. I was looking for an angle from which to shoot the exterior, a task which is difficult enough because of a lot of overhead cables in and around the slightly unusual tower. What I hadn't expected was to find the door open and visitors welcome, so of course I just had to pop in for a look.
For those not up to speed on these matters, the Church of Ireland is associated with the Anglican Communion, or for those in the U.S.A. that would be Episcopalian. Hence, churches of the C of I tend to be quite plain by comparison with the Roman Catholic Churches. Yet, they can be very photogenic and well worth a visit even if it's only to examine the memorial plaques on the walls which can be a great source of historical facts and information.
I have also been playing about with a pinhole camera recently, so out it came for a couple of shots. Maybe some day I will manage to post an example or two here. For the moment it is still very much a work in progress though.
