The Train Now Leaving.....

The train now leaving platform 13a in Amsterdam Centraal Station is the 7:01 am train to Schipol airport.

I suppose his Lordship and I are getting used to being out and about at unhealthy hours of the morning, but it still felt too early and too dark to be walking the streets of Amsterdam with our cases packed and ready to catch the train from Amsterdam Centraal Station to the Airport.
But we did it and arrived at Schipol to have breakfast.

This is one enormous airport and perhaps we are getting slow and wandered, but it took a little bit of reading too many screens to find our way to the EasyJet check- in desk which was in the furthest corner of the check-in area.
But find it we did and at the appointed hour we fought our way on to the plane for the flight home, which was on time and quick.

Instead of paying a small fortune in taxi fares to the Dower House from the airport, we have the alternative Lothian bus choice which goes almost door to door and costs nothing, albeit you get to see rather a lot of Edinburgh and the amazing RBS campus at the Gyle.
The mighty certainly haven't fallen very far, if at all.

It's good to be home again after an interesting two days, and lovely to catch up with Mel and Jim.
