Splooshy

The storm just stopped last night. As if someone flicked a switch. One second the rain was lashing against the window, the next... nothing. No wind, no rain.

Before that the barriers were opened around 7.30pm and everyone home safe. Nothing worse than having to have had tea at the chippy.

Today dawned clear and mild. I had to nip up to Kirkwall but stopped of to watch the waves splashing on the blocks that make up the barrier. Wouldn't have fancied standing in this spot last night though.
