Depoe Bay
This is the bridge that Jack Nicholson led his band of merry escaped inmates under from the calm bay to the wild blue ocean in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." one of the best and saddest movies I've ever seen. The film used a mental institution in Salem Oregon and this outlet to the sea in Depoe Bay for the film. The story was written by Ken Kesey who lived in Oregon and wrote several books about this area.
Years ago, I was driving through this area and a huge wave crashed over the rocks and all the way across Highway 101. It completely soaked my car and my nephew and I because we had our windows open! The Oregon Coast - you gotta love it!
