Born to Be Adored
18 weeks
That's what her t-shirt says, and that's what she is. Absolutely adored. However, she may not have felt adored this morning. I took her for her last jabs today. She wasn't pleased. The nurse irritated me though - Katie was crying after them 'oh it's nothing like she's making out, what a fuss'. And she was really harsh about it, not joking! Whilst we were at the clinic, I got her weighed and measured and she's now 13lb 6oz and is 60.5 cm long!
We did well as we got a free tape, a CD and a video from the clinic too, there was a 'free to a good home' box, so we gave a few bits a good home!
After we'd been to clinic we had our first ever trip to tea and toast. Sometimes, the tiniest moments in life make the biggest of difference, and you don't even realise it at the time. Katie and I walked in and the minister, Sue, came to say hello to us. When you walk in to the hall where its held, there's two tables of mums, one on the left, one on the right. Each a close group of friends, and each very different people. Without knowing it, or maybe she did, she immediately introduced me to exactly the correct table, some of the loveliest people i know. Straight away, they welcomed us, Katie threw up quite dramatically, and they all helped, even though she'd sicked on one of the mums. And now, 8 months on, Katie's just one of the crowd of the children, and i've been made so welcome its as though I was always one of the girls. These are some of our dearest friends.
