Focus on the old

... palm leaves. As new leaves grow on the palm tree in our garden the old ones die off, always looking more interesting than the new ones, I think. It's a Washingtonia palm, originally native to California but widespread around the Mediterranean. Ours is very small, only about a metre high, but they do grow to a height of over 20 metres. I blipped the shadow of one, almost as high as a house, here.
