Late for poetry
It was National Poetry Day in the UK on Thursday and I missed it - my excuse is that I don't live in the UK. It's a gloomy day today and I didn't want to go out so I thought I'd make up for it by trying a (sort of) self-portrait with some of my poetry books. Any advice for next time I try this sort of thing would be very welcome.
I hope there are no librarians upset by this because it's obvious that I don't keep my books in any logical order... I can (almost always) find them, though!
Wine making
Nothing ever goes according to plan in this village (that's one of its charms). On Wednesday evening I saw some members of the wine-making family we've been helping and I've been photographing and they said the next stage - taking the wine off the marc or grape skins - would be on Saturday or Sunday for one of the vats of wine, and would we like to come to watch? Of course, I said, and also noted it as a possible blip for this weekend. Then after I'd blipped my tiles on Thursday in the afternoon we had a phone call saying they would be doing it that afternoon. We went over and helped and watched and I took a lot of photos... but too late to blip. I know I had requests for further photos of the process. I'll be putting some of them on my Flickr page in a few days' time for anyone who's interested. I'll put a link when I've uploaded them.
