Face to face

I've recently developed an enthusiasm for moth-trapping, and often photograph our captures (which are then released back into the garden). Today's blip is the first of what I suspect will be a number of insect portraits. This is a face-on view of a moth called the Sallow, one of a number of similar species which are around in the autumn, and are coloured broadly to match the yellowing leaves. I never fail to enjoy getting up close to insects - they are really very charismatic when observed carefully.
