Last light...

A day that seems to have got away from me - I've been busy, but don't seem to have achieved a lot....including scarcely achieving a blip.

The grey, damp weather wasn't really encouraging for photography, and I again left it rather too late to search the garden. Unfortunately there were no perfect rain-spangled seed-heads tonight!!

I tried several subjects, none of which really appealed, and then gave up. Just at the point when I definitely thought it was too late, Pete called me to look at the sky - the afterglow had lit up the clouds in the most beautiful shade of pink.

I quickly mounted the camera on a tripod and took a few shots. The long exposure has captured the movement of the trees in the wind: the tall willow and pine are being blown far more than the sheltered cherry in the middle of the image!
