Thistle Down

By Ethel

Moments

Moments make a life-time,
Coming one by one.
Making up the days and years,
Underneath the sun.

They form a destination,
A shimmering, silver track.
A road that goes unbroken,
And is never turning back.

Heart-beats ever sounding,
A waif in arms of death.
With the will to rise and conquer,
And the drawing of a breath.

A scene of golden sunsets,
Where the sea and ocean match.
Where inner strength can fashion,
And faith can lift the latch.

Moments tread on a life-time,
And writes a guilded page.
It grinds men to precision,
And gives to them...age.
