Tree Trunk
1/160th sec, f8, 800ISO, 85mm lens, Canon 350D
I was in a rush today so I went down to the waterfront to shoot anything I could. Nothing inspired me till I got in the car to leave, and saw this tree. I am pretty sure it is a Moreton Bay Fig. The trunks of these trees are very shapely in my opinion. I turned the car back off and shot a few images. In the rainforests the root bases become a lot bigger and more intricate. This one is just a baby really. Still, I love the flowing shape of the trunk. I am not sure if they actually produce figs either.
For the first time in weeks I feel like I have shot something special. Black and white with a hint of sepia. The bonus is that I wasn't looking to photograph trees. Not with loads of boats and water around. This is getting printed and going straight on my wall.

As I said before, today was a big rush. I went to the doctor to organise a specialist for my knee. I basically had to come straight to work after that because the young apprentice is at college and we are short staffed. Looks like I will be doing some overtime tonight.
