Breakfast in Barcelona

There is no shortage of cafes for breakfast along Las Ramblas. One of the most picturesque is Escriba, with a wicked array of pastries in the window.

I chose the Cafe de L'Opera, though. It's more friendly, less touristy, more local - and opposite the Liceu, where Jonas Kaufmann had to cancel his recital yesterday because of illness. Well, you can't win them all even on the lucky tens !!!!
