Fall Colors
Another business trip turns into one of the best photo opportunities. I left this morning and made the 6.5 hour drive up to Cadillac, Michigan. As usual, I randomly stopped along the way to take pics of the beautiful fall colors.
I took a little detour off the highway and followed signs to a state park. I walked about a half mile from the parking lot, literally over the hills thru the woods, looking for the beach. When I came up over the last ridge and saw the view I was stunned. There in front of me was Lake Michigan. I wasnt expecting to see that!
Now, keep in mind that I'm from "here". I know where Lake Michigan is! Its fairly large and you cant miss it. But I've not been on the east side very often. Matter of fact, I was expecting to see a lake...you know...just a lake. I had no idea that I was driving so close to it.
Anyway, it was another tough choice when deciding which picture to post. The lake was so beautiful. But, I decided against those. After I left the state park I was driving down a rather rural road looking for an entrance to the highway and I drove past a tree farm. I nearly slammed on the breaks when I saw the gate in this picture. It was just so beautiful! I made a U turn and came back to get another look.
These are the beautiful fall colors of upper michigan.
This picture reminded me of a puzzle I had when I was a kid.
