Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Sometimes at 2 o'clock in the morning, when i've woken up for no apparent reason and don't need anymore sleep (according to my brain) I start thinking of stupid ideas.
This was an idea I concocted about 6 weeks ago...
We decided that as I was taking Honor to see Mary Poppins that she wouldn't have a party with her friends. Instead we'd have a quite one at home.
So my brain was trying to think of something that Honor could give to her friends as a birthday gesture.
My brain decided that it would be a good idea to bake cookies for the kids and let Honor decorate them. Then wrap each set of cookies in tissue paper and put them, along with 'Happy Birthday' confetti, in a pre-made cellophane bag.
4 hours later, 5 batches of cookies later, 70 cookies later, food dyed hands later, a lot of swearing later, and a lot of squeezing too big cookies into too small bags later they were finished. Total sum - about £30 (those cellophane bags are extortionate)
Why didn't I just go out a buy a huge bag of Haribo sweets for £4.99? That would take about 5 minutes and the kids would probably have been a lot more excited than spaky homemade crappy cookies with Honors finger prints in!!
