All Purpose Barn

I had a field trip to Kelsy Creek Farm today where an old farm that was donated years ago to the city now is a working demonstration farm for people to enjoy. Kids who wouldn't normally get to see horses and goats and pigs and chicken etc. can do so here. Kids can learn to take care of the animals through classes after school as well as gather eggs and watch bees making honey. It's a yearly event to watch the sheep shearing and then the wool being made into various things. There is also a craft barn where pottery classes and other art classes are held. My son had his 16th birthday at this farm park and we had a pot luck and just celebrated with friends. It holds a lot of wonderful memories for our family. In the winter when it snowed we rode innertube and sleds down it's hills. It's the first place we took our son (gander of the goose and gander) to play in his first big snowfall. There's hiking trails here too...just an all around lovely place and great field trip for me!
