Praying mantis

We think it was looking for somewhere to lay its eggs when we found it near our garden shed. I don't often photograph insects, but I couldn't resist this one. They're quite common here but don't usually pose quite so obligingly.

Otherwise, another lazy lunch in the sun (it's a hard life!), with our son stocking up on light and warmth before he goes back to London tomorrow.
