Hot Rod

This is a classic car!

We were sitting at an intersection counting bicycles when this baby pulled up to the stop light. It was sooooo... bright. I won my heart for my Blip of the day.

In three hours this morning we counted 250 bikes going through this intersection which is 25 miles and about a thousand feet up from the El Centro, downtown Tucson. Most continued up the road to enjoy some steeper hills. Many were on a training ride for El Tour de Tucson and several were with the Team in Training. Going up they traveled maybe 12-14 mph but coming back down, they were cruising at 20-25 mph.

Tucson - Pima County is recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly City. I like the 12 foot shoulders in this area of State Route 77.
