Aegean Paradise #8

Well, today the conditions were probably the best of the trip to climb in. Just warm enough to be pleasant whilst resting, but not so hot that your palms sweated out at the first sight of rock. Jonny joined us yesterday, and is enjoying the early evening view from Spartacus sector. I'd been trying Spartacus Maximus all day- 3 attempts after two warm-up climbs. No success, but I feel like I'm close. It's a bit frustrating to have to climb an F7b+ before I get to the 'maximus' part of the climbfor the 7c tick. I'm sure that today is the first time that I've climbed 7b+ three times in one day! Even if it was the same one three times...

Because the route is so long (45m), you need to re-belay half way down. On my final attempt of the day, I had planned to strip the route of my gear. Having done the top part, I screwed up the re-belay so that it was impossible to retrieve the rest of my gear. That means I'll have to try the thing one more time before I leave. Must be fate :)
