Flying away
I tried some pictures of the blue blue sky (which is now overcast and leaking water). It just needed something to highlight the blueness, and as I waited around, an aircraft flew through conveniently.
Now - metaphorically would I like to be on that aircraft running away? I have an exam this afternoon - a very difficult exam, one I will struggle with.
Have you ever had that cold hand of fear clutch you as you turn over the page, and think... hold on, I can't answer ANY of these questions. Its the most miserable feeling, and it could happen this afternoon. You then have to spend 3 hours picking away at bits of questions fiddling around the edges, waffling hoping some of it will by chance fill the gap. Its not that you don't understand the question, you do. You can even remember vaguely the related concepts, its the answer you can't recall. Sometimes bits will come back to you in the exam, and sometimes they won't.
Anyway, here's hoping for a nice simple question on the the molecular structure of microtubules, perhaps something on the MAP kinase pathway, and something - anything, on stuff I can remember.
So would I like to be on that aeroplane?
No - in the end, I've worked at this course, struggled with it, enjoyed learning the concepts, so it would be silly to not take the exam. The only thing I have to fear, is fear itself - oh and running out of time!
