Quiet Blipper

Tranquil Sea

This image is a detail of an oil on canvas in the lobby of my hotel. It reminds me of the ocean and shoreline in the Gulf Islands. Nannak's journal this week has captured the real beauty of these islands. This blip was inspired by Blipblops entry for today.

This piece of the painting seemed to me a painterly representation of the place where ocean and land meet. Extracted from a large canvas on which much of the paint had been applied in large swooping and circular loops like fingerprinting, I think of the moving reflected images of shorelines and trees, of water rippled by endless tidal motion.
