Schizostylis coccinea - Kaffir Lily

Spent the day tidying the garden. A cold day but bright blue sky and little wind. The soil was very cold and damp on the hands.

Its that time of year to haul out all the plants which wont survive the winter, cut back those which need a trim and generally prepare for the onslaught of winter. Out went the sweet peas, dahlias were lifted and annuals unceremoniously tossed in the trug.

Naturally there is very little left in flower save some michelmas dasies and these lovely Kaffir lilies. Delicate looking little flowers which sit well against their strong green foiliage.

All is now in order with just some new tulip bulbs left to plant :)
