A bit of a surprise!
Well... we survived last nights meal, B's family, M's husband to be are very nice and my initial thoughts were right... we're all still somewhat getting used to this whole wedding thing and the pace that its moved at!
We were happy and excited this morning to be leaving to head to Tanfield and were even more excited as we drove down the campsite drive to see a very decent level of water! Cue one very excited R!
I had a bit of a mare during the day as, as I was walking round the campsite I dropped my camera on the lens. I Thought I had just smashed the UV filter but then the lens wouldn't work and I noticed that a bit was missing off it and there's a little dent. I managed to find the missing bit and put it back together... but it has to be said its not a happy lens and unfortunately its my 75 - 300! Not a happy camera owner!
I did get a few photos but none of startling quality.
This is Billy! (its his nickname) I love taking canoeing photos of him as he's quite photogenic. He's a real entertainer in many ways than one... and needless to say in the pub he kept us entertained with stories from over the years. I've heard them time and time again... but I never really seem to tire of them, I think its the way that he tells them!
The B&B/ pub we're staying in is great and whilst everyone left the pub to meander back to their tents and sleeping bags 10 minutes away at the campsite... I didn't feel an ounce of guilt as I walked up the stairs of the pub to our lovely room! Warm, comfy and a nice shower/ bathroom to boot all within a few metres!
We have been coming to this pub for many years, its changed in many ways as when I first started going there was a golden retriever that used to come an nick your chips and it was a real typical Yorkshire pub! Then when the landlady retired it became a bistro and its only in the last few years that it has become a pub again, it has however changed hands a few times too but the current owners are doing a fantastic job. Great place!
