Misty Autumn Morning

This is a side view of my garden at first light. The moon not yet gone, the mists still curling around the trees and the morning sky is new with colours of lavender and pink.

The house is the old rectory that is now co-owned by two wealthy French sisters who holiday here over the summer and at Christmas. People tell me it looks like a haunted house, but it has never spooked me. I think it is beautiful and majestic, and over the summer it is filled with laughter, children running over the land, and the sounds of a piano and violin - both families have kids going to music school it seems.

They never talk to us. I sometimes hear the sounds coming from the old house and feel strangely lonely and left out. When the shutters are closed and it's empty like this, I have urges to break in just so I could have a look around. But I haven't yet.
