Game for two?

Now, surely when you take your dog for a walk and take a ball along this should encourage an element of sharing and playtime together. Ah, but not when Bert is involved, for his idea of fun is to be thrown the ball and for him to then run around a field carrying said ball and not letting you anywhere near it. Some would say brilliant as less walking for the human, however you then encounter the situation where Bert sees something far more interesting thus leaving ball far side of field then when you walk to retrieve it he will either zoom back (if he's noticed) and snatch it back or he will be oblivious until you throw it in direction you want to walk in only for him to retrieve and run in the opposite direction. Thus involving the human in the most ridiculous attempt at a walk ever. I was starting to think maybe this is just normal until today when various children and passers by would just watch and laugh at this complete farce of a walk. So, at my next opportunity to seize the ball I hid it and we managed to complete the walk out of the laughing eyes of many. Oh the shame!
