Afternoon tea at the Savoy

Before you start worrying about my bank balance - NO - we didn't.

But only because they are fully booked into the New Year.

Instead we went into the American Bar and had a cocktail (mine was a White Lady which I sipped slowly and very happily)

The Savoy - one of London's really grand old hotels, has just been spectacularly refurbished and we sneaked in with cameras after returning from a lovely pub lunch with friends in Hampstead (on the number 13 bus, past Lord's Cricket ground).

You can't beat a city break - and this one has been super, especially with Covent Garden too
