The inevitable

There's no escaping a photo from Knossos if you at Crete. Today we drove up there and spent some time exploring the minoan ruins. The photo shows the essence I think: there is the bull, there are the minoan columns, the reconstructed part of the so-called palace and, well, the fact that so much of it all is a creation of a british archaeologist who owned and excavated the site, Arthur Evans. It may or may not have been anything like this back in the day 1700 BC

But the history is breathtaking even if the ruins in themselves aren't really.
