Falling Leaves at the Old Well

My cousin's wedding ceremony tomorrow will be at the center of the University of North Carolina Campus, at the Old Well.

The oldest spot on this two hundred year old school, for many years it was the only water source. Now it is a drinking fountain housed in a replica of the Temple of Love at Versailles, surrounded by flower beds, stone benches, and brink walkways. Very pretty.

And very appropriate as the place to begin a marriage, and it is also where they had their first date, where "it all began," as the groom said.

The pavers are scored with many years of traffic, as you can see. It is fall here too, but far behind what we have been seeing in New England. The oak leaves are just beginning to turn.
