the most recognizable silhouette in the world
example: concert poster, "dan mangan"

analysis:
employing silhouettes is an effective technique for minimizing realism, promoting quick perception and speedy comprehension, but only if the silhouette is a faithful resemblance to the real-world form.
there really is no silhouette more recognizable the world over than that of queen elizabeth the second. it is sort of ironic because the use of silhouettes can imply anonymity or isolation, but this particular one hardily unrecognizable. this portrayal of queen elizabeth can be found on canadian and british currency, on both pro-monarchy and anarchy posters, and even concert posters. except in this case, she is donning frog earrings, and her crown has been transformed with other silhouettes that i cannot recognize without any further knowledge of dan mangan and his music.
now that i think about it, the silhouette is the perfect representation/symbol for queen elizabeth. it certainly conveys a sense of mystery and represents a shadowy world devoid of detail, which is an accurate reflection of the public knowledge of queen elizabeth as a person, rather than a mere figurehead hidden behind pomp and circumstance.
